Cable tramway Milsons Point to Ridge Street, Nth Sydney 1886.

Steam tramway in Newcastle 1887.

Experimental electric tram, Randwick & Waverley 1890.

Experimental electric tram relocated to Nth Sydney 1893.

Cable trams King St to Edgecliff 1894.

Electric trams on city lines commence 1899.

Tramways transferred from NSW Railways to Department of Road Transport & Tramways 1932.

Nth Sydney trams diverted over Sydney Harbour Bridge to Wynyard 1932.

Gradual closure of lines commences 1930s.

Last electric tram service in Newcastle, 1950.

Closure of tramway system became government policy in early 1952.

Withdrawal of tram service completed 25 February 1961. Monorail opens between City & Darling Harbour 1988.

Light Rail opens between Central Station & Wentworth Park 1997.

Sydney Monorail closed 2013.

Light rail replaces heavy rail between Newcastle Interchange & Newcastle city, 2019.
