Tanks constructed 1790.

Tank Stream abandoned 1826.

Busby's Bore 1827-1837.

Botany Swamps water supply 1858. Sewerage and Health Board created, 1875. Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Act 1880 & Board of Water Supply & Sewerage constituted.

Hunter’s first drinking water reservoir (The Res) constructed, 1882.

First drinking water to Newcastle by 1885.

Hudson Brother’s Emergency Water Supply Scheme created, 1886.

Water from Walka Water Scheme to Newcastle & Maitland, 1887.

Stage 1 of Upper Nepean Scheme opened 1888.
