CAREER
Spent 44 years in Main Roads later the Department of Transport and Main Roads with postings in Roma, Melbourne with the Commonwealth Bureau of Roads, Brisbane, Mackay, Warwick, Roma as District Engineer and Brisbane. Highlight was Project Design Manager for the design and construction of 42km of the 8 lane M1 Pacific Motorway from the Logan Motorway to Nerang. Retired in 2012 due to Spinal Cord Injury causing Incomplete Quadriplegia.

Served in the Australian Army Reserve from 1964 to 1994 in the Corps of Infantry and the Corps of Engineers, retiring as Major and qualified as Lieutenant Colonel. Service undertaken around Australia and in Scotland.

Rotary International from 1991 to the current in Roma and Kenmore Clubs and Rotary Paul Harris Fellow in 2003 and in 2005 for service.

Engineers Australia Member from 1968 to the current, Professional Subcommittee and Queensland Division Board, 2007 Queensland Division President, member National Congress.

Presidents Highlights 2007
— Year of Women in Engineering.
- First member in Queensland to follow their father as President (Fredrick Bruce Haigh 1960 Queensland President, 1970 National President.)
-Promotion of women graduate engineers into industry careers,
-Strengthen Local Groups with visits including the new Aeronautical Engineering and attending Regional Conferences.
-Media Training for office bearers to improve and promote the role of Engineers
- Representing Engineers Australia in interviews on ABC Radio
-Promote through the Universities the Science and Engineering Challenge for Years 10/11 High School students.
-Reinforce the STEM requirements in the education curriculum
-Strengthen links with Queensland Government and Queensland Universities by meetings with Queensland Premier and Engineering University Deans.
-Conducting a Queensland Conference on new technologies and young engineers.
