From Engineering Heritage Australia

MacCABE, George Dawson, MWAIE (1862–1934)

After arriving in Western Australia in 1888, MacCabe joined the Public Works Department in 1898, and worked on the construction of the water pipeline to the Goldfields. MacCabe became an Assistant Engineer under W C Reynoldson in the PWD in 1903, and gave evidence to the Royal Commission on the construction of the pipeline.

Transferred with Reynoldson into the Mines Department, and then with P V O’Brien to the Water Supply, Sewerage and Drainage Department in 1912, he was the District Engineer at Northam under J Parr in 1926, when it is thought that he retired.
