BLACKWOOD, Edward Austin, (1904-2002)
Born in India on August 30, 1904 he was employed in 1950 as the Assistant Chief Civil Engineer for Design in the WA Government Railways under J.B. Horrigan (q.v.) in 1955.
Blackwood was the planner for the conversion of the railway between Fremantle and Kalgoorlie to standard gauge between 1965 and his retirement in March 1970. He died at Nedlands on February 28, 2002, aged 97.
