BATEMAN, Edgar John, AMIEAust (1879-1961)

Edgar John Bateman was born in 1879 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire England.

Bateman came to Western Australia and worked in the North West as the wharfinger for a number of ports including Roebourne, Beadon Creek and Broome. He was admitted as an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers in 1928. In 1929 he was working for Main Roads WA.

Bateman died at Mount Lawley on October 13, 1961.

His Son, William Edward Maxwell Bateman, received a Distinguished Flying Cross in WW2.
