Consult Australia 1951 to ----

Consult Australia's predecessor was the Association of Consulting Engineers Australia (ACEA). Prior to economic rationalisation and application of the Trades Practices Act, one of the important functions of the ACEA was to determine and publicise recommended fees for the engagement of consulting engineers. The benefit of this approach was that clients were able to focus on selecting a consulting engineer based on the skill and expertise that could be brought to the proposed works rather than being influenced by competitive hourly rates.

In 2001 ACEA published 'Engineers in Association - The first 50 years of the Association of Consulting Engineers Australia - 1951 - 2001' written by John Ridgway. Available below are two versions, the first of which is good quality but has pages 25 to 36 missing. The second version includes the missing pages, but is of low quality.
