His contributions have influenced the development of numerous standards and codes of practice. Professor Gad co-founded the Australian Engineered Fasteners and Anchors Council (AEFAC) and serves as a Director of the Australian Steel Institute. A Fellow of Engineers Australia, he is highly regarded for his leadership and industry-focused research.

Professor Stephen Foster is renowned nationally/internationally as an authority in the field of structural engineering. In a distinguished career of more than 40 years since graduation, Professor Foster has made long-term, important contributions to Australian industry and practice in the area of concrete and concrete structures. He has played a major role in advancing the quality of concrete structures through Australian and International Standards, both via his own research contributions and national committee chairmanship/membership. As President of The International Federation for Structural Concrete, Professor Foster leads a distinguished international group making theoretical/practical developments in the field of concrete and concrete technology.
