A Fellow of Engineers Australia and ATSE, and Chair of FIDIC’s Global Leadership Forum, Bill has shaped national policy and global engineering discourse. Named among Australia’s Top 100 Most Influential Engineers, his leadership has advanced climate resilience, social equity, and public good. Bill’s legacy reflects engineering as a force for positive change across Australasia and the world.

Darryl is a highly respected engineer with more than 40 years of leadership in public health engineering, water resources and sustainable infrastructure, particularly in the Northern Territory. He has championed service delivery to remote Indigenous communities and transformative leadership through roles with the Peter Cullen Trust and Charles Darwin University. Recognised nationally and internationally by the Australian and International Water Associations, Darryl is committed to mentoring, inclusion and advancing engineering for societal and environmental benefit. His career reflects a deep dedication to public service and the power of engineering to improve lives.
2025 Julia Lamborn

Emeritus Professor Lamborn has led a distinguished career in environmental engineering and education for more than four decades. Her work in landfill modelling and waste management has shaped scientific understanding and informed policy through publications, government reports and international committee leadership, including the International Waste Working Group. A committed volunteer with Engineers Australia, she has served as National Chair of the Environmental College and contributed to global standards via the International Engineering Alliance. Julia’s legacy includes advancing engineering accreditation and sustainability on both national and international stages.

Charmaine is the Managing Director of Goulburn-Murray Water, appointed in 2019 as the first woman to lead the organisation in its 30-year history. Reappointed in 2023, she brings more than 30 years of experience in the water industry, with a focus on strategic program delivery, operational efficiency and leading transformative change. Previously, she was the first female Executive General Manager, Service Delivery at Melbourne Water. Charmaine is recognised for her visionary leadership, commitment to innovation and dedication to improving water services and sustainability across Victoria.

Peter is a rehabilitation engineer with more than 38 years of experience in clinical biomedical engineering, specialising in rehabilitation and advocacy. He has led more than 6000 complex seating cases, combining clinical expertise with a passion for improving the lives of people with disabilities. Peter’s career spans research, education and professional leadership, including extensive volunteer work in mentoring and promoting inclusive engineering practices. His dedication to human-centred design and advocacy has made him a respected figure in the biomedical engineering community and a champion for disability inclusion.

Dr Walker is a rehabilitation engineer with more than 30 years of experience across government, academia and industry. He is a recognised leader in assistive technology policy and standards, known for his strategic thinking, integrity and commitment to systemic change for people with disability. Dr Walker has led research, policy, clinical and educational teams in the disability and health sectors. Through his consultancy and voluntary work, he continues to influence innovation, inclusion and accessibility, making a lasting impact on assistive technology development and implementation in Australia and beyond.

Brian is a current active member of the WA Divisional Committee and has served as WA President and Chief Judge of Engineering Excellence Awards. When Vice President of Innovation in 2016, at Woodside Petroleum he was seconded to the University of Western Australia (UWA) as Associate Dean to drive collaboration between industry and the universities. During that time, he guided the design and development of UWA’s new $80M EZONE facility that provides an unparalleled student experience, building an innovative and collaborative culture based on a STEM capability.
2024 Mervyn Charles Lindsay

Merv has made an outstanding contribution to the engineering profession in Australia as the founder of a successful engineering consulting business, Lyndsay Dynan, and as National President of Engineers Australia in 2011, hosting the Year of Humanitarian Engineering and subsequently leading the Engineers Australia governance changes with wide national member consultation in 2013, resulting in a modernised organisation, a significant legacy.

Sabaratnam has been a key figure in engineering in the Northern Territory, holding roles such as Deputy Vice Chancellor of Northern Territory University and CEO of NT’s Employment and Training Authority. He served as President of Engineers Australia’s NT Chapter, leading its growth and driving key initiatives, including the Excellence Awards. An Adjunct Associate Professor at Charles Darwin University, he is also highly active in the NT community, with 30 years of Rotary service and leadership in the Multicultural Council of NT.
2024 RADM Katherine Reid Richards AM

Rear Admiral Richards has served more than 35 years in the Royal Australian Navy, reshaping the engineering profession and advancing opportunities for women. She commanded HMAS Cerberus and now leads the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Regulatory earned her the Conspicuous Service Cross and recognition as a Member of the Order of Australia.
2024 Prof Murray Leslie Scott

Prof Scott has made a significant contribution to the Aerospace Engineering profession and manufacturing industry, firstly as CEO of Australia’s Cooperative Research Centre for Advanced Composite Structures for 14 years, and then Chairman of the Board of its successor, Advanced Composite Structures Australia, that he founded. The research and development work that he led has been vital to Australia remaining a significant supplier to major world aircraft manufacturers. He has edited two books and refereed 99 papers on aerospace science and technology.

Professor Town established the engineering course at Macquarie University, transforming a small Department of Electronics into a thriving School of Engineering with more than 50 staff and 250 graduates annually. As an expert on Engineers Australia’s accreditation panels, he advises on electrical, electronics, and photonics engineering and represents the organisation in international accreditation reviews.

Kate is a distinguished leader, combining technical expertise with a passion for social impact. Since 2021, she has co-chaired Arup's Australasian Region, leading more than 3500 specialists. She has steered Arup through the pandemic, driven company restreucturing, and advanced sustainability and gender equality. With 20-plus years of experience in Australia, the UK, and Ireland, Kate has delivered major infrastructure projects and is a champion for gender equality. Her leadership and commitment make her a deserving candidate for an honorary fellowship from Engineers Australia.
