BOLAND, James Joseph, AMIEAust (1894-1965)
James Joseph Boland was born at Rockhampton, Queensland on August 27, 1894 and joined WAGR as a cadet on May 17, 1911. He initially worked as a draftsman but in 1932 was appointed as an Assistant Engineer with WAGR working at Kalgoorlie, Narrogin and Northam. He was elected an associate member of the Institution of Engineers Australia in 1932. In 1952 he was Acting District Engineer, Perth for WAGR.
James Joseph Boland died at Claremont, Perth on June 23, 1965.
His son James Patrick Boland BE was also an engineer.
