Gutteridge Haskins & Davey was founded in Melbourne on the 1st of January 1939. Gutteridge Haskins & Davey is now recognised as the GHD group, a multinational technical professional services firm. It is now one of the top six 100 percent employee-owned companies in the professional services industry worldwide.
Western Australia has produced the chairman of GHD (John Phillips), and two chief executive officers (Ian Sheperd and Ashley Wright).
GHD was the overall winner for the engineering excellence award in 2001 for its role in bringing Stirling Reservoir to Perth alongside Water Corporation.
